St. Joseph's College
Green & White Swimathon 2021
St. Joseph's College ("SJC") has a remarkable swimming heritage.
60+ old boys of different generations, former and current teachers, and students from SJC and
St. Joseph's Primary School ("SJPS") will swim around the Hong Kong Island,
raising funds for SJC's sustainable development and to make a difference for future Josephians.
Saturday 13 November 2021
10 relay teams (of 6 swimmers each) will circumnavigate Hong Kong Island.
Starting and finishing at Sandy Bay Swimming Shed.
Swimmers will swim clockwise around the Hong Kong Island with 40-minute interchanges until their team returns to the starting point.
Swimmers are all old boys spanning across 4 decades, current and former teachers and SJC and SJPS students.
Total distance: around 45 km per team.
Funds will go to Vision 22.
Funds raised will go to Saint Joseph’s College Foundation Limited (“SJC Foundation”) and
will be contributed towards SJC’s redevelopment project (Vision 22) and other school needs.
SJC Foundation is a tax-exempt charitable institution under the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap.112 of the Laws of Hong Kong).
Any donation of HK$50,000 or more is eligible for the Green & White Wall Programme (see below).
A dedicated amount will also be used to provide opportunities for underprivileged children and those with special needs in Hong Kong to learn swimming (or to be water-safe) and other water sports.
Vision 22 – Our Redevelopment Project
Vision 22 aims to revamp and modernize the SJC campus by introducing essential upgrades and expansions.
Organized in “Hubs”, Vision 22 gives Josephians the room and tools to pursue unfettered holistic development by providing the facilities for sparking students’ interest in STEM fields, housing SJC’s diverse clubs and societies, and pursuing multifaceted artistic endeavours. Also in the pipeline are our very own standard basketball court, 25-metre indoor swimming pool, and student dormitory.
Extra-Curricular Activities and E-Learning
Funds will also go to e-learning and ICT facilities development, as well as supporting extra-curricular activities and sports training.
